Reg was born in Regina on May 21, 1934. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Louise and daughters Cathy and Brenda and son Greg. He also had 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Reg is also survived by a brother Gerry and sister Pat. He was predeceased by his parents & brother Wayne.
When Reg was a year old his family moved to BC where he grew up on a farm in Abbotsford. He went into trucking at a young age and worked on the highways for over 10 years as far north as Ft. St John and then south to Castlegar and Fairmont Hot Springs in the Kootneys. Reg returned to Abbotsford in 1965 with his growing family and settled on McKenzie Rd building his family home just down from the home he grew up in. He then set up his own trucking company and later went into partnership to develop a gravel pit. He was also part of building up the dikes along the Fraser River with his dozer, loader and 4 trucks. He continued trucking until his retirement.
Reg enjoyed time with his family and meeting new friends while travelling to different holiday locations as well as telling the entertaining stories of his younger days. He also enjoyed skiing with his children up at Hemlock Valley and Mt. Baker. Reg also enjoyed his fishing, hunting and golfing with Louise later in life. He will be surely missed and lovingly remembered.
Thanks to the staff at the Menno Home for their compassion and care to make him comfortable in his last days.
A service for Reginald will be held Feb 4th at 2pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church located at 3845 Gladwin Road in Abbotsford, BC.
