Bob passed away August 19, 2023. He leaves behind his wife of 42 years, Anne, his daughters, Sara and Jessica ( Brodie), granddaughter Cassia, sisters Pat and Judie (Terry), brothers in law Jay (Sharon) and Scott (Maureen) and many other dear family members, friends and neighbours.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Ruth Connors, brother Andy (Lorie), and parents in law Bill and Faye Anderson.
Most of his working life was spent in the precast concrete industry. He spent 22 years with the good people at AE Concrete where he worked as a shipper. Bob always strove to keep his customers satisfied as that made him happy too. Retirement came in 2010 but he never slowed down. Projects around the house were tackled with enthusiasm and completed at breakneck speed. Anne never had to ask twice and he would be working on it.
Bob enjoyed helping wherever he could and meeting people and hearing their stories. He had an incredible capacity for remembering them all. There wasn't a Seinfeld plot that he could not recount in detail either. A great sports fan, he rarely missed the Jays, Raptors, or the Canucks, cheering them on even when they were in the basement or a deep slump. He played ball hockey until he was about 55. He brought home the odd trophy and more than a few stitches. More recently he looked forward to playing poker with his friends, taking great joy from taking their money so he could hand it back to them the following week.
Bob and Anne enjoyed daily walks through the neighbourhood and sometimes further, days in White Rock for a stroll and sushi, getaways to San Diego and Oregon. But he especially loved spending time with his family. Some of his biggest pleasures were helping kids fix up their bathrooms or move into and decorate their condo. Or look after their pets.
There will not be a service for Bob, he did not want that, but if you would like to honour his memory please lend a hand where you can. Donate to a cause, hold a door, shovel a driveway, carry some groceries or take time to listen. He would love that.
