9 novembre 195012 octobre 2020

Ronald Lorne Voth was born November 9, 1950 in Chilliwack BC to Jacob and Eva Voth and was the youngest of 3 boys. He attended high school at MEI and got his pilot’s license before he graduated. He pursued post graduate studies at BCIT and graduated with the highest standings achievable. After graduating, he worked in administration for the Unemployment Insurance Commission from 1971-1978. He became Chief of Operations in the New Westminster District. During this time, he married and was blessed with 3 children Jennifer Denise, Carmen Lynette and Leanne Michelle. They were the light of his life. In 1979, Ron moved his family to Abbotsford from Burnaby and went into Real Estate. In 1981 he purchased a half interest in Clearbrook Realty Ltd. and was in partnership until 1993. In 1982, Ron had an AVM (brain bleed). God spared his life and blessed him with many more years. During this time, Ron lost his marriage and life was difficult. In 1992, however, he married Loraine Ratzlaff and gained two more children, Jason Ratzlaff and Jana Ratzlaff. He loved his expanded family very deeply. Upon the passing of his brother Lyle in 2001, Ron managed the family company, Voth Construction Co. Ltd. The family company was sold in 2006, at which time, Ron retired. Ron and Loraine loved to travel together. They enjoyed many road trips, cruises, adventures to Europe, and Harley trips. Ron served on numerous church boards and was a proud member of the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board for several years. In addition, he was on the Board of Directors for the University of the Fraser Valley. Ron had a deep appreciation for music. He sang in church choirs and quartets for many years. Ron was blessed with 13 grandchildren. Each grandchild was his favorite and he loved every minute with them. Ron’s faith remained resolute and unwavering. He ‘walked the talk’ to the very end. Ron, you will be missed in so many ways, but you have left your indelible mark in each of us. Thank you for your love. Until we meet again… Due to the Covid 19, Ron's funeral services will be by invitation only To view Ron's funeral service online please copy and paste the following URL: https://youtu.be/riWvGYvgyBQ

Hello, My Name is Len Voth, one of Ron’s two older brothers.

Ron was an amazing brother. Even as a child and throughout his entire life Ron was always kind and
respectful to all who knew him. Throughout our lives there are many experiences we shared together,
of which I would like to share just a few with all of you.

Even though Ron was 4 years my junior we shared many common interests, from boating, water skiing, snow skiing, motorbiking, and singing together in a quartet with our Uncle Abie and our cousin Dave. We enjoyed numerous family gatherings on both the Voth and Klassen sides. Jennifer, Carmen and
Leanne will remember the fun road trips we all took to Palm Springs, and the Black Butte Dude Ranch. As children Ron, Lyle, and I did many road trips to Penticton with our parents, riding in the back seat of
our Ford, dressed in our clean white polyester shirts sitting on plastic seat covers in 100 degree weather. One of us never failed to throw up.

I would like to share a funny story about Ron as a small child in grade 1. We lived in Watrous Saskatchewan, where we were playing near the lake at the back of the property. I was in the lead, my older brother Lyle behind me, and Ron at the back behind Lyle. Out of nowhere a skunk crossed our path. I stopped immediately and held up my hand, motioning my brothers to stop silently. Well Ron had other ideas. He screamed at the top of his lungs quickly turned and ran away safely. I on the other hand got a full blast from the skunk. My mom buried my clothes and gave me several tomato juice baths, and for a few days I was banished to the back of the classroom at school.

Ron was good businessman too. Our mom often repeated the story about our barber who would cut Ron’s hair at a young age and tell everyone about Ron’s business savvy.

As young adults Ron and I skiied together frequently.

Brevity prohibits me to say more. Suffice it to say we will miss you Ron. We love you.

I feel very privileged and grateful for Ron's friendship. We enjoyed discussing philosophical and technical issues over many coffees and other events.

Ron's keen mind equalled his love of family and friends, and of living life fully.

Thank you, Loraine and family for sharing him with us.

Til we meet again.
