Tom was born Sept 16, 1933 to Hester Armstrong and Thomas Thompson Boyes. He had 5 siblings, and lived in Drummheller Alberta. When he was around 6yrs old, his mother died and he went to live with Uncle Ed and Aunt Sarah Hey. Apparently he was mischievous and his sisters were often sent to look for him. Later his father married Myrtle Connely, and they moved to Abbotsford. Tom lived with them, just down the street from Genevieve Walters, his future Wife. Tom used to take eggs from his house and bring them over to Jenny’s house so her mom could cook them for him. He would flirt with Jenny and play with her kids, Penny, Bradley, and Jim. Tom and Jenny were married April 9, 1956. Together they had Scott, Shirley, Daniel, Perry, and Darrin; and their half sister is Sherry.
Tom was a hard working electrician. He co-founded his electrical company, Fraser City Installations. Most of their kids and some of the grandkids worked there through the years. He was very proud of his many out of town jobs, and loved eating at fancy restaurants while away. He enjoyed pointing out all the different projects he had worked on as he drove by. Tom was an avid hockey player, fan and coach. He got all his kids involved in hockey or figure skating. He lived a full life, enjoying boating, fishing and his cabin on the ocean.
Tom Boyes leaves his beloved wife Jenny, and a huge family of children, grandkids, and great grandchildren…..with more on the way. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held June 19th at 2:00pm at the studio out back at 5799 Riverside St. Abbotsford, BC; V4X 1T6
