As a young child she moved with her family to the Chaco in Paraguay. This was where she accepted the Lord into her heart. When she was 11 years old, they moved to Friesland and during this time, with God's grace, she was able to grow and learn to live a Godly life. In December 1939 she was baptized in the MB Church. On April 27, 1946, she married Wilhelm Klassen. They had five sons and continued to live in Paraguay until 1966 when they moved to Canada.
They lived in Vancouver where she worked full time doing daywork, and during this time their daughter, Sophie, was born. In 1980 they moved to Clearbrook where she worked as a care aid for 17 years in the Tabor Home and volunteered at the MCC thrift store and sewed many items for this ministry.
In September 2008, Dad passed away. In 2012 Mom moved into Tabor Court Assisted Living. She enjoyed her time there, playing games with friends and going for walks. In 2017 she moved into Tabor Home Extended Care where she lived until her death on January 8, 2025.
We remember her as a strong woman of faith who truly cared for and prayed for her family.
She is mourned by her sister-in-law Edith Klippenstein, her children, Eduard (Liz), Erich (Judy), Edwin (Anni), Werner (Joan), Armin (Hilda), Sophie (Mike), 17 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.
