Vivian Helene Nichol (nee Albertson) passed peacefully into the presence of her Saviour on October 27 with her family at her side at 99 years of age. She was born on August 9, 1926 to Christian and Regina Albertson at Naicam, Saskatchewan. She was the tenth child in a family of twelve all of whom have predeceased her.
When the Pentecostals came to her community she heard the Gospel and came to a saving knowledge of Christ at the age of 9. She grew in her faith by going to church and then listening to Oscar Lowry on the radio. She read her Bible and memorized Scripture which stayed with her all her life.
In 1947 she went to the Two Rivers Bible Institute which is now Nipawin Bible College for four years in preparation for becoming an overseas missionary. When that dream faded she chose to stay home and marry Everett Nichol in 1952. She didn't go overseas but was a missionary right here in Canada.
They farmed in Lac Vert area and had two daughters, Lois and Donna. In 1969 they moved to Clearbrook so that Donna could go to MEI. The plan was to go back to Saskatchewan after four years but that changed and she was here for fifty-six years.
By 1974 both girls were married and they were empty nesters. Dad bought a motorcycle and for 10 years they toured Canada and the United States especially enjoying the sights in Colorado.
She worked briefly here, but then did a lot of volunteering at her church, Seven Oaks Alliance and at a couple of Christian schools. She loved teaching and influenced many lives for Christ. She also influenced lives by praying for her family and others she came in contact with. She prayed for others until her last days.
She is predeceased by her parents, all her siblings, her husband Everett and infant grandson Wm. Matthew Zseder. She leaves to mourn her daughters Lois (Harold) Zseder, Donna (Dan) Becher: five grandchildren: Rick (Anna) Zseder, Roxanne (Gino) Iuliano, Melanie (Christian) Zseder, Charlene (Ted) Lamboo, Chad (Muzzy) Becher; and 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at Hazelwood Cemetery, located at 34070 Hazelwood Ave, Abbotsford, BC, V2S 7R1, Canada, on November 5, 2025, at 11:00 am.
A memorial reception will follow at the Amenities Room of Regency Park, 3150 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, British Columbia, on the same day at 12:15 pm.
