Winston Russell
Born-August 24, 1950
A legend Rised on December 12, 2016
We'll start with describing an amazing man, a Hero, A Warrior, A fighter like no other who gave it his all, until his final breath at the end of the War
he fought so bravely against Terminal Cancer. In life, he always found a positive regardless of the painful and
Brutal days he had bravely endured.
He was a Hero to his Loving and dedicated wife Maria Encarnacion, who was his forever of almost 25 years.
He knew they were locked together forever when he first looked into her eyes and said,
"Baby, I know that you're my wonder drug." He was intoxicated by his love for her and her
love for him. Many friends who were couples, would comment on their devotion and love for each other, wishing that they had the same.
He was a true Legend and the Greatest Father to his son Nick Encarnacion who cared for him on the front lines of his Battle with Bladder Cancer.
He was forever grateful for the love and devotion that Nick had always given him.
Nick was always held by the dearest part of his dad’s heart.
He loved it when Nick would get him his special line up of shows to watch after coming home from a painful 4 month hospital stay.
He was proud of Nick for many reasons, mainly because of
Nicks character and qualities as his son. He felt complete and revered in knowing that his Amazing son would carry on his great name that Winston was so deeply proud to give him.
To his Step-children who he was proud of for their academic & career achievements, Ben, Julia, and Ken
who Winston always loved & financially raised as if they were his own. He was a great Step-Father.
Winston remembered the many great waves and chapters of life with them, living in the Brady bunch in the earlier years together.
He and was able to rekindle a familial connection before his death. Although he was a tough Ass,
they always valued his insight and genuine concern for their lives when he had chosen to be their Step-father.
To his Grand-children Veronica and EmmaLee Gerbrandt, his world was
totally complete whenever they were present during his courageous
fight. Veronica always visited her Grandpa and she would always get him ice to keep him cool after his 40 radiation treatments failed & affected his body very badly, now spreading his Cancer like a Wildfire.
An important mention from the Winston's heart, was the memories about his love that he gave to his
first born daughter Tamara in the younger years of her life.
She was his child from his previous relationship and he was able to get
a closing message from her before he died, thanks to Nick delivering a message to his dad, giving Tamara and Winston some closure.
To end this painful chapter of Winstons life with his Heroic fight
against a Deadly War, we would like to give special mention to a few
people who were instrumental in his fight.
Special thanks to his Earthly Angel who helped him to maintain
his fight with great foods on the Rainbow diet for Cancer. He really
loved and appreciated her and we know that it was her genuine love &
dedication at that time that contributed greatly to his fight.
She made such a difference
in the number of years that he was able to fight, thank you Lorma.
To our daughter Julia Gerbrandt who Winston said she was there for him on many days, weeks, months and more at the beginning of this painful fight, until the very end of his fight.
He was very thankful for your
love and dedication to him.
He would often talk about how proud he was of Julia, not just because
she was a soldier in Afghanistan and now serves as a police officer,
He was proud of the woman he had seen her become and he always
said "She's my tough Ass daughter and I love her, I'm proud of seeing
her become a great mother and giving me two amazing grand-children
Veronica and Emmalee who he undoubtedly loved more than life itself.
To end the Chapter of his life, we would like to give Special thanks to Rachel and Frank who were key medical professionals at the ARH
Complex Care Unit.
Thank you for for professionalism and
love for Winston. It was greatly appreciated, especially towards the end of Winstons fight, thank you.
