

Alberta Mae Billman Isom, 81, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2012, at a local medical center in Abilene, TX. Graveside services will be 2:00p.m., Friday, December 7, 2012 in Drummond Cemetery, (just 6 miles south of Abilene on Hwy 277 South) with Mike Reed officiating under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St., Abilene, TX. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 to 8p.m. at the funeral home.
Alberta was born on October 14, 1931 to Frederick and Esther Case Billman in Livingston, Montana. She attended schools in Livingston and moved to Abilene in September of 1953. Alberta was employed by the Abilene Independent School District as a food service cook and retired in 1993 after 27 years of service. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Gordon Isom; one brother, William Billman; and Aubrey Isom.
Survivors include her daughter, Verdis E. Knight and husband, Ronnie of Yorktown, VA; her sons, Rodney E. Isom and wife, Gloria of Sweetwater and Terry L. Isom of Abilene; her sister, Beryl Peterson and husband, Tom of Overgaard, AZ; two grandchildren, Scott Isom and Frederick Isom.
