Alta Beatrice Daniels

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 24, 2011, in Hawley Cemetery, Hawley, Texas, with Chuck Reynolds officiating, directed by Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene, Texas. The family will receive friends at a visitation 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Alta was born on August 6, 1946 in Abilene, Texas to Floyd and Edith Ausborn. She grew up the daughter of cotton farmers, a life that taught sacrifice and family values. Alta was a born again Christian that was faithful until the end.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; one sister, Wilma McEntire; and two sons, Roger Bishop and George Wayne Bishop.

Survivors include her husband, George Stacy; five sisters, Lois Elrod, Jean Pritchett, Reda Faulks, Sue Reeves, and Deborah Powers; one brother, Floyd Thomas Ausborn; one daughter, Sherron Gonzalez; three sons, Wilson Bishop, Floyd Bishop, and Steven Bishop; ten grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hospice of the Big Country for the loving care that they gave Alta.
