

Alvin Edward Braune, 84, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Abilene, Texas at Mesa Springs Nursing Center after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be 1:00p.m. on Saturday, September 26, 2014 in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South, with Brother John Fanning officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Braune was born January 26, 1930 in View to Arthur c. Braune and Fannie Harrison Braune. He married Lillie Faye Tampke on July 17, 1954 in Fort Worth, Texas. They celebrated 60 years of marriage in July. He proudly served in the US Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was also a member of the Abilene VFW. Al was a master electrician and worked for Key City and Long Electric. In later years he struck out on his own as Braune Electric. Along with being an electrician, he was a full time farmer on the land he was born and raised on in View, Texas.
Preceded in death by parents, AC and Fannie Braune; sister Edith Braune Beaird; and brother, JC Braune.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie F. Braune of View; daughter, Wanda B. West and husband, Darrell of Spearman; son, Glen E. Braune of View; grandchildren, Jessica R. Braune of Abilene, Randa N. Ruscher and husband, Chris of Humble, Chelsea L. Braune of Abilene, Trevor A. Braune of Stephenville; a sister-in-law, Veriena Braune of Granbury; nieces, Kathy Braune of San Antonio, Cindy B. Bell and husband, Rex of Granbury; and a nephew, Brad Braune of San Antonio.
