

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2012, at the Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd Street, Abilene. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 7457 West Lake Road, directed by Community Memorial Funeral Home. David Cason of Broadview Baptist Church will officiate.
A.J. was born on June 18, 1927 in Stamford, Texas to Cary and Dora (Anderson) McClintock. He was raised in Stamford and attended Stamford Public Schools. He was one of seven children in the McClintock household. A.J. was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Corp from 1945 to 1947. A.J. married Hazel Fullerton on May 25, 1954. They had three children: Sharon, Darla, and Gary. A.J. was a driller for Gem Drilling Company, Stamford, Texas for many years. He also worked as a manager for Stamford Produce for many years. After retiring in the 1980’s, A.J. and Hazel moved to Abilene.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Kay Brooks; his parents; two brothers; and four sisters.
A.J. is survived by his wife, Hazel; daughter, Darla Cox and her husband, Steve Cox; son, Gary McClintock; and son-in-law, Earnest Brooks, all of Abilene. A.J.’s grandchildren are Michelle Huffaker and her husband, Joe Dan, of Avoca, Michael Brooks and his wife, Sandra, of Abilene, Marc Brooks and his wife, Katie, of Abilene, Stephanie Sidwell and her husband, Matt, of Euless, and Chris Cox, of Abilene. His eight great-grandchildren are Noelle Huffaker, Danyelle Huffaker, Jourdan Huffaker, Abagael Brooks, Madisyn Brooks, Andrew Brooks, Kaison Brooks, and Hailey Elizabeth Sidwell. A.J. took great pride in all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
