Barbara Jean Cato, 84, passed away on Monday August 22, 2016 in Baird. Memorial services will be planned by the family at a later date. Arrangements were under the care of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St., Abilene.
Barbara was born on April 18, 1932 in La Junta, Colorado to the late Ernest John Engler and Mary Luella Huntley Engler. She loved to sew and cook and was active in churches in Newark, TX. Barbara was also a member of the Easter Star.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands, J.T. Williams and Roy Cato; and several siblings. Survivors include her two daughters, Nora Darnell of Clyde, TX and Margaret Lightell of Brooklyn, NY; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
