Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 18, 2011, in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery, 5750 Highway 277 South, Abilene, Texas, with her nephew, Kevin McDonald, officiating. Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory, will direct the services.
Betty was born December 22, 1925 to Earl and Jane McDonald in Mansfield, Arkansas. She married James King on April 5, 1947 and moved to southern California where she and James owned and operated restaurants for several years. After his death, she moved to Abilene in 1995. Betty was a loving person who loved the Lord. She was a Baptist.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Earl, Jr., Ellis, and Lowell McDonald; and two sisters, Evelyn McDonald and Helen Ann Williams.
Survivors include one son, Kevin, of Clearfield, Utah; sister, Janey Williams of Greenwood, Arkansas; two brothers, Lloyd of Hackett, Arkansas and Jerry McDonald and wife, Janet, of Abilene; numerous nieces and nephews; also, her wonderful friends and caregivers who cared for her for over 12 years at Care Inn of Abilene.
