

Billy James Mosley, 83, passed away peacefully May 7th, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 10th at Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N. 3rd, Abilene, Texas, with Brother Robert Chambers officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, May 9th from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Bill was born November 7, 1929 and grew up in Grand Falls, TX. Bill married Shirley (Chick) Mosley on July 1, 1954. They shared 58 years of marriage together. Bill and Shirley called Abilene home. Bill worked for Mrs. Baird’s Bakery and retired after 36 years.
Bill loved all sporting events. He spent most of his free time at a ball game or watching a ball game on T.V. He also spent time entertaining his grandkids with stories that kept everyone laughing.
Bill is survived by his wife, Shirley Mosley, his two daughters, LaNelle Neill and husband, Don Neill, Terri Whetsel and husband, Todd Whetsel; four grandchildren, Heather Taylor and husband Bryan, Hunter Whetsel, Shiloh Whetsel, Chase Whetsel, and two great-grandchildren, Bryson Taylor and Avery Taylor.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in honor of Bill Mosley to Second Baptist Church, 901 Victoria St., Abilene, TX 79603 for the Brazil Mission.
