Charles Ray Gibbs

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 23, 2011, at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory, Abilene. Burial will follow in Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a visitation Monday 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Charles was born November 13, 1989 to Maryann (Lucero) and Terry Lee Gibbs in Clovis, New Mexico. He was raised in and attended schools in Hereford, Texas. In 2009, Charles moved with his parents from Hereford to Abilene. He was employed as a welder by Bulldog Steel in Clyde, Texas. Charles had a passion for motorcycles and motocross racing. He had a good heart; would help anyone in need; and loved his family and his friends.

Survivors include his parents, Maryann and Terry Gibbs of Abilene; his grandparents, Jake and Josephine Lucero of Fort Sumner, New Mexico; his girlfriend, Rebecca Moore of Abilene; two sisters, Tabitha Ozuna and husband, Gus, and Crystal Regalado and husband, Mario, all of Abilene; two uncles, Tony Lucero of Fort Sumner, New Mexico and Robert Lucero of Espaniola, New Mexico; one aunt, Brenda Hardy of Plainview, Texas; two nieces, Alyssa and Mia Ozuna; and four nephews, Dominic, Jermiah, Micah, and Malachi Regalado.
