Charlotte Ann Martin

Charlotte Martin, 69, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2012, at a local medical center. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 North 2nd, Abilene. Burial will follow in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 17, 2012 from 5 to 7p.m. at the funeral home.

Charlotte was born August 1, 1942 in Abilene, TX to Grady and Susie (Claxton) Duncan. She grew up and attended schools in Abilene, and later married Steven Martin on September 14, 1979.

Following in her father's footsteps, Charlotte was a Master Plumber and retired from Duncan Plumbing. She loved to cook and loved her husband with all her heart. Charlotte also enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, camping, going to the casino, and collecting trinkets, stuffed animals, and figurines.

Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Douglas Mitchell Dahl; and a brother, Ronald Dean Duncan.

Survivors include her husband, Steven Martin; three sons, Donald Dahl, David Dahl and wife, Nancy and James Carney; four daughters, Debra Bondick and husband, Joe, Donna Hardin and husband, Jay, Renee Childress and husband Eddie, and Patricia Nicholas and husband, Craig; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and Susie her "daughter-dog".
