Clara Darby, 90, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 in Abilene. Graveside services will be 2:00p.m., Monday, January 26, 2015 in Elmwood Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Charles Farina officiating under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 South.
Clara was born on May 13, 1924 in Van Buren, Arkansas to the late James Monroe Row and Nara Marie Shelton. She loved to go to Rose Park Senior Citizens Center and visit with her many friends. Clara also enjoyed square dancing, sewing, reading, doing puzzles, and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, William Herbert Darby; four brothers; one sister; and one grandson. Left to cherish her memory are her son, Tom Darby and wife, Mecca of Abilene; two sisters-in-law, Betty Darby of Kilgore, and Mary Row of Abilene; one brother, Gene Row of California; one grandson, Robert Bowman and wife, April of Abilene; two great-grandchildren, Harlee and Daxton; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels or the Rose Park Senior Citizens Center.
