Dorothy was born on May 5, 1925, in Eastland County, Texas to the late Thomas Morrell Terry and Zora (Eppler) Terry. She graduated from Cisco High School and attended Cisco Junior College. Her first job was in Brownwood, working for Western Union. She married George Alexander Fox, Jr. on November 21, 1942. She went onto work in sales for Montgomery Ward. The family moved to Austin in the early 1950's and raised their family there for many years. The family relocated back to Cisco around 1961 and moved to Abilene in 1964.
Dorothy was naturally talented and creative. She could play the piano by ear. She enjoyed expressing her creativity through sewing and painting. Dorothy was involved with many things over the years, however nothing had priority in her life like her faith. She was a devoted Christian woman and was always active in church. While in Austin, the family helped start a congregation. She attended Hyde Park Christian Church and Southwest Christian. She attended The First Christian Church in Cisco and Abilene as well. Dorothy loved her family deeply and always took time to create special memories with her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as they came along and even got to spend time with her great-great-grandchild. Over the past several years, she had the honor of being cared for in the homes of her daughters living between Fairfield and Cisco, where she was able to make special connections with others.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Fox, Jr.; sister, Wanda Ervin; and brother, Billy Terry.
She leaves to cherish precious memories her daughters, Carolyn Robertson and her husband Danny, and Pam Krabill and her husband Jim; grandchildren, Rhonda Ponder, Dana Brown, Brad Krabill, Debbie Bartlett, Shaun Krabill, D'Anne Stephenson, Jay Robertson, and Chris Krabill; 15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Tommy Terry; and numerous nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends.
