

Elizabeth Lewis Rose, 87, passed away on Wednesday August 17, 2016 in Abilene. Funeral services will be 10:00a.m., Monday August 22, 2016 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St. with Rev. Vertis L. Norman II officiating. Burial will be at 2:30p.m. on Monday in Loraine Cemetery, Loraine, TX. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. at the funeral home.
Elizabeth was born on February 17, 1929 in Bryan, TX to the late Samuel and Eva Johnson Lewis. She attended TSTC in Sweetwater for nursing and worked at Rolling Plains Hospital in Sweetwater for 23 years. Elizabeth enjoyed fishing and bowling and also loved to play the piano and sing. She was a member of Pasadena Community Church.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two husbands, Rev. Vertis L. Norman, Sr. and William Rose; a daughter, Rev. Victoria Coffield; and three sisters. Survivors include her son, Rev. Vertis L. Norman, II and wife, Anita of Nacadoches, TX; two daughters, Mary Hines and husband, Marlin and Sallye Norman all of Abilene; a sister, Jessie Mae Miller of Hayward, CA; nine grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
