Emily Jo Fine

A Celebration of her life and Faith will be held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 5701 Hwy. 277 S. in Abilene. Interment will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6-8 PM also at the funeral home.

Emily was born on October 25, 1936 in Coolidge, Texas to the late Terrell R. and Jeaneva (Eddy) Bowlin. She grew up in Houston and moved to Abilene in 1945 with her family. She graduated from Abilene High School in 1954 and went on to attend Draughon’s Business College. She married her high school sweetheart, Lowell Bedford Fine on August 20, 1955 at St. Paul Methodist Chapel. Together they established roots in Abilene, once they began a family she became a devoted homemaker. She later entered the workforce as an Administrative Assistant for several companies to include Prudential, TXDOT, and W.T.U. She also enjoyed volunteering with the Abilene Baptist Social Ministries. However, her greatest joy came from being with her husband, and taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her faith was an anchor in her life. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years where she taught children in Sunday school for 20 years. She severed on several committees such as Personal, Baptism, Flower, and Benevolence. She was presently attending Clearfork Baptist Church. She will be remembered for her kind, gentle, loving spirit, and concern for the people she loved. Her life was a beautiful example of a true Christian women.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved daughter, Cynthia Fine.

She leaves to cherish precious memories her husband, of 66 years, Lowell B. Fine; son, Brent Fine and his wife, Paula; daughter, Teresa Williams; six grandchildren, Lauren Josselet, Landon Fine, Stephen Labuda, Jeremy Labuda, Charles Labuda, and Justin Williams; her precious great-grandchildren, Lola, Abbie, Mitchell, Addisyn, Aubree, Brenden, Corbrey, Emalee, Charlie, and Charlotte.

Memorial Contributions can be made in her name to a Charity of Choice or Heart Research.
