Esther Belle White

Belle was born as the oldest of 14 on August 8, 1924 in Enid Oklahoma to Arthur and Esther Tarpley.

Belle met James “Jim” Andrew White in Brazoria, Texas. They were married on November 20, 1944 in Decatur, Texas. They were happily married and raised 6 kids. Belle and Jim were married for 67 years until Jim passed away on January 10, 2012.

Belle was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Esther Tarpley; siblings, Walter Carol Tarpley, Arthur Roy Tarpley, Henry Tarpley, Kenneth Tarpley, Melvin Tarpley, Anna Wylie and Carolyn Steward.

Belle worked at Casey’s Barn Door for many years. She also worked for Super Duper where she was the deli manager for many years. Belle retired from Super Duper.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Ray White (Big Springs), daughter Belinda White (Abilene), daughter Theresa Flores (Abilene), son Donnie White and wife Renee (Hutto), son Gary White and partner Connie Viehland (Buffalo Gap) and daughter Libby Cooper and husband Victor (Abilene).

Belle is also survived by 6 grandkids: Regina Rodriguez, Shane White, Jennifer Cupp, Jason Edwards, Stephanie White and Casey White; 10 great grandkids: Alexis, Dayton, Mercedes, Daylee, Makenzie, Brennan, Jose, Angelica, Cambry and Brooklyn; and 1 great-great grandkid Johnathon.

She is also survived by 3 brothers Bob Tarpley, Fred Tarpley, and David Tarpley; and 3 sisters, Eva Leatherman, Francis Fussell, and Betty Pitts.

A memorial will be set at a later date.
