Eudera Goldsmith Higgins

Eudera Goldsmith Higgins, 89, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 in Abilene, TX. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Faith, 5701 Hwy 277 South with Rev. Donny Harbers officiating. Burial will follow in the Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m. Saturday, prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

Eudera was born on May 19, 1926 in Ira, Texas to the late Matthew and Eula Gilbreath Goldsmith. She attended Hardin Simmons University and worked for the Hendrick Home For Children retiring after 15 years. Eudera was a devout Christian and a member of Wylie Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bridge with friends and loved her family dearly.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, W.D. "Bill" Higgins; a sister, Louie Faye Goldsmith Grounder; and a brother, James Goldsmith. Survivors include her son, Bill Webb (Carolyn) of LaGrange, Texas; daughter, Sanda Warren (Bob) of Ft. Worth; step-daughter, Kathy Hines of Ohio; brothers, Carroll Goldsmith of Abilene and Warren Goldsmith (Sara) also of Abilene; grandchildren, Virginia Warren McElroy (Josh), Margaret Warren, Jennigale Webb, Billy Webb, and John Hines; and great-grandchildren, Nora McElroy and Finis McElroy.
