Fayetta Swarts, 88, of Abilene, passed away on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 in Abilene. She was born on December 3, 1934 in Pipeville, KY to the late Alvin Swinney and Edith Anderson Swinney. Fayetta worked many years at Allsup’s Convenient Store and was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church. She loved taking care of her flowers and plants, listening to gospel music and adored her cat, Miss Kitty, that she rescued.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Turner Doolan and husband James Doolan of Abilene and Lois Hayden of Chicago, IL; three sons, Robert Dutch of Abilene, Edwin Dutch of Abilene and Johnny Dutch of Missouri; one sister, Linda Jean Ibarra and husband Fernando; two brothers, Charles Swinney and wife Yolanda and Bill Swinney and wife Pat; 18 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sons, James Ray Dutch, Gary Dutch and Bill Dutch and by one brother, Alvin Ray Swinney.
A visitation will be from 3:00 – 5:00 PM Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories.
