Gerald Kent Roberts, age 57, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August the 11th, 2018 at home after a long battle with cancer. He was born June 1st, 1961. He is survived by his parents, Dale and Shirley Roberts of Lorena, his children, Steven and Monica of Abilene, his sister, Holly Sheen (Ray) of Taylors, SC, brothers, Brian (Carol) of Chardon, OH, Mark (Therese) of Red Bluff, CA, and Mitch of Georgetown, in addition to many beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was a loving father and caring friend. He loved his children and raised them well. He was a WWII aviation buff as well as a aircraft enthusiast. He enjoyed the mountains, hiking and skiing with family and friends. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
Visitation with the family will be 5:30 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 14th with the services on Wednesday, August 15th at 10:00 AM, both at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home at 5701 Highway 277 S. Abilene, TX.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care of Abilene.
