Geraldine was born to Ewell and Ruby Gossett on July 2, 1939, in Austin. She had two sisters, Joyce and Patricia. Her father worked as a pipeline inspector, so Geraldine lived across the country growing up. She moved to Abilene as a teenager and graduated from Abilene High School in 1957.
Geraldine met her husband, Bobby J. Sartor, while in school, and the two married in 1957. They remained married for 48 years until Bobby’s passing in 2006. They had three children together, Bobby Jr, David, and Craig.
Geraldine loved her community and lived in Abilene her whole life. She was an avid league bowler, taking several trips to state bowling tournaments throughout the years. She also enjoyed camping, especially at her family’s place on Lake Brownwood. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, especially during birthdays and holidays. Geraldine cherished watching her children and grandchildren grow up, passing down her wisdom along the way. Her memory and legacy will live in her family’s hearts forever.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters, and her son Bobby Jr. She is survived in death by her son David and his wife Julie of Abilene; son Craig and his wife Saundra of Abilene; grandson Zachary of Waco; granddaughter Shauna and her husband Steven Regalado of Abilene; grandson Shawn of Midland; grandchildren Erin and Tucker of Abilene; and five great-granddaughters (Alexxis, Nevaeh, Gabriella, Mackenzie, and Avah) and three great-grandsons (Brady, Anthony, and Zevon).
