Helen F. Elliott

Helen F. Elliott 92, of Abilene TX, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 3, 2012 at a local medical center. Services will be held at 2:00p.m., Monday, January 9, 2012 at Community Memorial Funeral Home, 1443 N. 2nd. St. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. at the funeral home.

Helen was born on November 30, 1919 in Franklin, Indiana to Serril and Mary Demaree.

Helen's biggest joy in life was playing her piano and sharing this gift with the community and surrounding area. She played in many nursing homes in the area, for church services, and for other functions at the Windsor, where she lived for many years. She was also a one-time regular at the Home Place in Tuscola, TX where she played music with her dear friend Ruth Potts.

Helen also loved and admired the gracefulness and great beauty of butterflies.

Preceding her in death were her husband Kenneth Elliott; one sister, Catherine Coffman; one brother, Mark Demaree; and her parents, Serril and Mary Demaree.

Survivors include one son, Craig Alvis and wife Stacy of Eula TX; one daughter, Carolyn Alvis of El Centro CA; three grandchildren, Amy and Sarah Alvis both of Eula and Christopher Doshier of El Centro, CA; one step-son, Larry Elliott of Indiana; one step-daughter, Sharon Coplen and her husband Steve of Indiana; a large extended family; and many dear friends.

She will be missed terribly by all, including her daughter-in-law who holds a very special place in her heart for Helen. Special thank you's to her home health nurse, her aide and the people at Hendricks Inpatient Hospice.
