

Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2011, in Texas State Veterans Cemetery with Pastor Mark Hewitt officiating, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Jack was born April 9, 1933 to Frances (Best) and Donald Lee Giddings in Omaha, Nebraska. He served his country in the Navy for four years during the Korean War and in the Air Force, retiring in 1973 with the rank of Mgst. Jack then became employed by the City of Abilene in the Water Department, retiring after 18 years of service. He worked hard to take care of his family. Jack enjoyed playing golf and loved to be with his grandchildren and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-sister, Mary Lou.
Survivors include his wife, Anna G. Giddings of Abilene; three sons, Michael Giddings of Abilene, Richard Giddings and wife, Traci, of Merkel, Texas and Robert Giddings and wife, D’Ann, of Abilene; a daughter, Lori Webb and husband, Robert, of Vernon, Texas; a brother, Richard Giddings of Little Rock, Arkansas; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be the Dyess Air Force Honor Guard. Serving as honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren, Barlee Barron, Chase Giddings, Ashlea Giddings, Sarah Barron, Clayton Giddings, Mika Giddings, Chelsea Giddings, Weston Giddings, Colton Giddings, Cuddy Giddings, Cash Giddings, Michael Giddings, and great-grandchildren, Asher Barron and Hayden Williams.
