Jessie Alice Chappell

Services for Jessie Alice Edwards Chappell, 81, will be held at Calvary Baptist Church on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 10:00a.m. in Abilene with Mike Reed officiating. Visitation will be held at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St. on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 4:30 to 6:00p.m.

Jessie was born December 23, 1933 in Littlefield, TX to J.O. And Mae Warren. She graduated from Cisco High School and attended Howard Payne College and Cisco Junior College. She married Bennie Ray Edwards in 1955, a marriage of 41 years. She was a mother, MeMa, and a homemaker. Jessie was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church, and was involved with senior adults, children, nursery departments, and G.A. leadership. She enjoyed singing with the Celebration Singers and Rose Park singers. Jessie married Edd Chappell in 2002 for 11 years.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, Bennie Ray Edwards and Edd Chappell; and a grandchild, Michelle Edwards. Survivors include her children, James, Randall and wife, Kay Ann, Mark and wife, Kelly, and Alice Grissom and husband, Cory; grandchildren include Christy, Tyler, Courtney and husband, John, Amy Kay and husband, Matt, Eric, Kyle, Brittany, Jessica, and Rebecca; and eight great-grandchildren; also including two step-children, Derrel Chappell and Trayce Mendez.
