

Joanne Price Deberry, 91 of Abilene passed away on June 6, 2025. Viewing 5-7 PM, June 11, 2025, at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 US HWY 277 South, Abilene Texas 79606. Graveside Services will be held June 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Potosi Cemetery, 2782 Potosi Rd, Abilene, TX 79602.
Joanne, our “Nenaw” was born in Dublin, Georgia to Marie Keen Price and Lesley Hoke Price, beloved sister of Hoke, Charles, and Sam Price.
Joanne Price was married to John Howard DeBerry Sr. in 1954 and spent the next 20 years as a U.S. Air Force wife and mother of four children. Guiding the family through assignments in Georgia, Canada, Nevada, Greenland, Thailand, Germany, and finally to Abilene Texas in 1974. Joanne worked at Abilene Pediatrics as the office manager for Drs Schaffer, Kemper and Maslanka. She worked there from 1982 till Dr.Schaffer retired.
Joanne was preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Sr, her son John Howard Jr., her daughter Cathy Casey, granddaughter Jennifer Casey Lively and grandson, Christopher Ray Parker. Joanne is survived by her brother Samual Price, of Georgia, daughters, Brenda Kay Walker of Henderson Tx, and Beverly and Scott Hudson, of Swansea, IL, Son- in- Law Terry Casey, and grandson in law Chase Lively of Abilene.
Joanne was blessed with eight grandchildren Hank, Casey, Trevor Casey, Jennifer Casey Lively, Lea DeBerry Nugent, William DeBerry, Jeremy Alan Hudson, Kristina Jo Hudson and Christopher Ray Parker and twelve great- grandchildren, Audrey Casey, Laine Casey, Drew Casey, Mattie Casey, Dylan Lively, Ava Casey, and Cash Casey, Brealyn Chance Hudson, Phoenix Munroe Hudson and Griffin Scott Hudson, Cierra Jackson, Cheyenne Ramos, John DeBerry Harmon and three great-great grandchildren, Wesley Jackson Jr., Octavia and Peyton Ramos.
