Josephine Maturey Chapa

Josephine M. Chapa, 58, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012, at a local medical center. Funeral services will be 2:00p.m., Friday, April 13, 2012 at Community Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, 1443 N. 2nd St., with burial following in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will start at 6:00p.m., with a Rosary starting at 7:00p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Josephine was born on July 29, 1953 in Galveston, Texas to John Maturey and Cruz Gonzalez. She loved to play bingo, spend time with her family, and watch the Dallas Cowboys. Josephine was a Catholic.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Patricia Sisneros.

Survivors include her fiancé, George Rangel of Abilene; sons, Jeremy Padilla of Watertown, NY and Isaac Olvera of Abilene; daughter, Sara Olvera of Pearland, TX; brother, Domingo Maturey of Houston; sisters, Cruz Rodriguez of Abilene, Helen Galvan and Martha Schatz of Pearland, TX; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
