

Mrs. P.H. (Robbie) Kerr, 94, formerly of Abilene, completed the life that God gave her on Sunday, September 16, 2012, in Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, 2012, at Southwest Drive United Methodist Church, 3025 Southwest Dr., with Rev. Norman Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory, Abilene. The family will receive friends at a visitation 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born on December 28, 1917, in Nacogdoches County, Texas, to John William and Roberta Lee Chalker. Robbie married Plyer H. Kerr on June 2, 1939, in Nacogdoches, Texas and they moved to the Abilene area in 1948.
Mrs. Kerr is a member of Southwest Dr. United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She served as secretary at Fairmont United Methodist Church (now Southwest Dr. UMC) for 22 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, John B and Alvin Chalker; and two sisters, Opal and Irene Hutson.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara (David) Caton and Margaret (Brent) Hoffman; five grandchildren, Brad Hoffman, Miles (Norma) Caton, Brock Hoffman, John Caton and Melinda (Rob) Barlow; five great-grandchildren, Brandon (Kammala) Hoffman, Brady Hoffman, Blake Hoffman, Zach Barlow and Savanna Barlow; two great-great-grandchildren, Khloe and Braxton Hoffman; two brothers, Dave (Marie) Chalker and Herman Chalker; one sister-in-law, Mary Kerr Pigeon; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Abilene Meals on Wheels, Methodist Children’s Home in Waco, Texas, Southwest Dr. UMC or the charity of your choice.
