

Larry was born December 1, 1937 in Canton Ohio to Mary & Lawrence Yacono.
He proudly joined the USAF prior to the end of the Korean Conflict. He was stationed at Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX when he met the love of his life Nona.
Larry wore MANY hats after his service; He was a bricklayer, a machinist, electronic technician, worked with the Nike Hercules Missiles in the Civil Service & he owned an automotive shop. His last job was with the City of Abilene Fleet Maintenance Shop where he retired.
Larry enjoyed bowling & stock car racing. But his favorite passion was fishing! He was active with the Chili Super Bowl & Ben Richey Boy’s Ranch.
Larry is survived by his wife of 64 years Nona Bailey Yacono, Daughters Sheryl Yacono Warren, Teresa Yacono Johnson & Amber Yacono Williams & Husband Victor. Grandchildren Nikki, Nathan, Amanda, Esther & Emily. Six Great-grandchildren & beloved grand-dog Giada. Larry is also survived by his brothers Bill & David and Sister Cynthia, as well as numerous other family members and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 10:30 am at the City of Abilene Cemetery, in the Masonic Section. Friends may pay respects from 8 am to 5 pm, Thursday, September 23, 2021 and Friday, September 24, 2021 at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Hwy 277 S in Abilene.
The family respectfully requests all attendees to properly wear a mask, even though outdoors.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in Larry’s memory to the Ben Richey Boy’s Ranch.
A very special Thank You & Blessings to all of the Doctors, Nurses & Staff on the 5th floor of the Parker Wing at Hendrick’s Hospital, as well as all of the Angels at Hendrick’s Hospice.
