She married a young Airman, Gert Wilhelm Winter and became a faithful military wife. Later they welcomed their two children into the family Cornelia and Dean. She traveled extensively following her husband’s career stateside and abroad to the Philippines. The couple settled in Abilene in 1973 for Gert’s final military assignment and later his retirement from Dyess. She assisted many churches with her beautiful organ playing.
