Noel was born on August 28, 1940 to Buel O. and Lucille (Byram) Cleckler at their home on Plum Street in Abilene, and was the youngest of four children. As a child, he loved to play football, play marbles and shoot cap guns. He and his friends Ted Smith, Jasper Wilson, Roger Graham and Lyn Davis made many memories together and shared many moments of laughter over the years.
On December 13, 1963, he married the love of his life, Franchesca Phyliss Rivieria, at the Broadview Baptist Church in Abilene. They were blessed with two daughters, Teena and Aleesa, and were later blessed with sons-in-law Joey Kincaid and Ed Blankenship. He was a hard worker, and spent many years working as a Glazer. He worked at Citizens Glass Company for many years and was self-employed, opening Independent Glass Company before retiring in 2015.
In his spare time, Noel enjoyed hunting, fishing and treasure hunting. He had a great love for the Dallas Cowboys. He was a logical man who used common sense to solve issues. A Christian man, he was a Baptist his whole life, and was a member of the Second Baptist Church for 41 years.
Noel also loved to travel with his family, and had fond memories of trips to Carlsbad Caverns, family reunions at Kerrville, fishing at Lake Brownwood and Lake Amstead, and pheasant hunting in Dalhart. He also enjoyed watching western movies.
Noel was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings Aleta Lang and Aubrey Cleckler.
Survivors include his wife, Fran of Abilene; two daughters, Teena Kincaid and husband Joey, and Aleesa Blankenship and husband Ed; five grandchildren, Aerika Sullivan, Katelyn and Conrad Kincaid, Kristen and Zack Blankenship; brother, John Cleckler of Odessa and several extended family and friends.
