Patricia Anne Angus

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Holy Family Catholic Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Adam Droll officiating. Burial will follow in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held the evening before on Wednesday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home 5701 Highway 277 S. in Abilene, Texas from 6-8:00 PM.

Pat was born on December 7, 1950 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to her loving parents the late Bernard A. and Eleanor H. (Stowell) Conroy. At a young age, she moved to Amsterdam, New York where she graduated from Amsterdam High School. She went on to attend Albany Business College where she studied cosmetology. She married Robert Wayne Angus on January 2, 1971. The family moved often following Roberts military and civilian careers. After his military service, they owned and operated a service station in Leesburg, VA. They moved to Amarillo, TX then to Akron, Ohio and eventually settling in Abilene in 1987. She worked in Abilene at numerous hair salons before beginning a career with JC Penny doing what she loved working with people in the Jewelry department. She enjoyed ceramics, cooking, macramé, and was an avid reader. Above all, she loved her family. Her husband, two sons, and grandchildren were her world. She will be remembered for her love, nurturing spirit, and compassion. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her older brother, Ray Conroy and his wife Arlene; her father and mother-in-law, Paul and Carolyn Angus.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert W. Angus; her sons, Shaun Christopher Angus, and Patrick Bernard Angus and his wife, Rebecca; two grandchildren, Tapley and Timothy; and one granddaughter on the way, Thea; nephews, Raymond and Michael Conroy; and many cousins and other extended family members, and numerous friends.
