Patricia (Pat) Del Duncan Tucker of Abilene left this world on January 28, 2026, at age 85. She was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Della and Thomas Duncan, who moved to Corpus Christi, Texas some six years later. It was there in Corpus her two siblings were born, and where she attended W.B. Ray High School and worked at Bel Aire Drugs.
When her family moved to Bastrop, Texas in the late 1960s, Pat joined them. By then she was a single divorcee with two children. For several years, she commuted to Austin, Texas to work in the offices of Rylander grocery stores. It was at work she met, and then married, Joe Tucker of Albany, Texas. The couple celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in 2025.
Pat and Joe and the two kids moved to Abilene in the mid-1970s. Pat worked for 23 years at Eddie Krieger Pharmacy, and then later United Supermarkets Pharmacy, until she retired in 2005.
Pat will be remembered for her laughter, her devotion to her family, and her determination to power through when circumstances were difficult. She fearlessly took on home improvement projects and made a comfortable home. She was a doting grandmother to her human grandchild and spoiled her many granddogs and grandcats over the years. Sunday dinner was always on the table. She made truly excellent peanut brittle and never met an occasion that didn’t warrant a greeting card. She loved watching her plants bloom and the hummingbirds dance outside her window.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Dona Duncan Cook and Thomas Randall (Randy) Duncan and niece Amy Duncan. She is survived by her husband Joe Tucker of Abilene, her daughter and son-in-law Rhonda Gillis and David Himawan of Georgetown, Texas, her son Chris Elliff of Abilene, and her granddaughter and grandson-in-law Haylea and Blake Walls of Evergreen, Colorado. She is also survived by her brother’s wife and their children and families in Central Texas.
The family is planning a private ceremony to put Pat to rest at Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Pat’s memory to her favorite charities, Wounded Warriors and Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or to your charity of choice.
