Her grandsons-in-law are Matt Leach, Nathan Mosley, Brent Buck, and Dane Sashko. Peggy was loved dearly by her grandkids and great-grandkids and was affectionately known as MiMi. She is also survived by her 102 year-old step sister Thelma Lee Ivison of Odessa.
She is preceded in death by her parents; by her sister Betty; and by the love of her life and husband of 54 years, Billy Don. Peggy was born on September 13, 1933 in Deadwood, South Dakota, to Paul Lundy and Neala Myrtle Gray Lundy. Peggy got to Texas as fast as she could and was a resident of different parts of West Texas from the time she was 3 months old. She attended high school in Monahans where she was homecoming queen, and Snyder where she graduated in 1951.
Peggy worked many years as a dental assistant in Snyder, and then in Abilene before retirement.
Peggy and Billy Don were long-time active members of the East Side Church of Christ in Snyder. After moving to Abilene they became members of Baker Heights Church of Christ, and then became founding members of Oldham Lane Church of Christ, when Baker Heights expanded and planted the church on Oldham Lane. Peggy was deeply loved by the youth of the church, who she taught in Bible School and then remained invested in their Christian walk through adulthood. Peggy was an excellent seamstress and one of her favorite activities in retirement was to make baby blankets and donate them to Christian services to be given to new mothers. She was also a very good cook and will always be remembered for her chocolate chip cookies, chicken salad, pistachio pudding, and German chocolate pound cake.
Peggy's children and grandchildren are heartbroken as they were not ready to let her go, but they are rejoicing that she is with her Lord and Savior, and reunited with her sweetheart who she missed every day after he passed in 2005.
A funeral is scheduled for 10 am on Saturday, December 29th, at Oldham Lane Church of Christ. Lunch for the family will follow the service. Burial is scheduled for 1:30 pm at Hillside Memorial Gardens in Snyder.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 28th at Elliot-Hammil Funeral Home on 277 South in Abilene.
