Robert David Brinkley

Robert David Brinkley, 51, passed away April 8, 2012 at The Oaks of Radford Hills Care Facility. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Lamesa Cemetery, Lamesa TX with Dr. Philip Christopher officiating under the direction of Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory St., Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5 to 7p.m. at the funeral home.

The son of Jim and Donna Brinkley, Robert was born on November 27, 1960 in Lubbock, TX. He graduated from Ellison High School in Killeen Texas and attended TSTC in Sweetwater. Robert worked for E.L. Farmer Drilling in Odessa for several years before moving to Abilene and working for Crown Cork & Seal.

Preceding him in death was his father, Jim.

He is survived by his mother, Donna of Abilene; a brother, Tim Brinkley of Abilene; a sister, Jill (John) Ekdahl of Stamford; nephews, Truett and Everett Ekdahl of Stamford; his longtime girlfriend, Teresa Davis of Abilene and her family, Joseph (Chelsea), Casandra (Richard), Ronnie Scott, Ashlynn, and Sierra.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to a favorite charity.

The family wishes to express their gratitude and deep appreciation to all staff members & employees of The Oaks of Radford Hills for the loving care David received for the past two months.
