Ruby Nell Walls Morris

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 11, 2013, at Fort Phantom Baptist Church, with Pastor Dave Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Hawley Cemetery, directed by Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 5701 Highway 277 South, Abilene. The family will receive friends at a visitation 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Ruby was born June 25, 1938 to Clarence McMinn and Helen Stout McMinn in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Her step-dad was Curtis D. Hamm and her very special aunt is Mary Price. Ruby was employed by WTU as a lab technician. When she could, Ruby loved going to each and every grandchild’s sporting event. She enjoyed quilting and made many quilts for her family.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her step-dad; a sister, Emma McMinn; three brothers, Bill McMinn, Clarence (Chinchy) McMinn, and John D. (Bunny) McMinn; and a great-grandson, Evan Walls.

Survivors include her children, Shorty Walls and wife Lana of Baird, Mike Wilson and wife Alisa of Lufkin, David Wilson and wife Melinda of Abilene, and Julie Davis and husband Danny of Hawley; grandchildren, Brad Walls and wife Patty, Amy Bietel and husband Roland, Caleb Walls and wife Karli, Carrie Smith and husband Brandon, Angela Wilkerson and husband Darrin, Dan Davis, Stormey Morris and husband Gerad, Landon Davis, Nowlen Davis, Crissy Elliott and husband Michael, Jared Wallace and wife Ashley, and Derek Wallace and fiancée Kayla Pryor; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, Doug McMinn; and one sister, Elaine Wallace.
