Memaw was born January 9th, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas to Edward Walsh Jr and Louise Gretner. She moved to Abilene, TX in 1972. In 1978 she began working at Mike Thompson’s Bookkeeping. There she met so many people that became friends and followed through the years. Memaw retired from there in 2018.
You could always find Memaw at the softball fields supporting her granddaughters or at the farm with her horses. Her family meant the world to her but her horses were a very close second. Her most prized possession was her 1978 Chevy Silverado. Memaw was one happy lady the night her son n law got her truck running after 10 years of sitting at the farm. She never missed the West Texas Fair and Rodeo. Memaw really enjoyed watching the horse shows and the horse races. If she could be there in person she was but she would settle for watching it on TV or on her computer.
Memaw was a strong, loving, country woman. Her heart was big enough for everyone she met in her life. She didn’t know a stranger. Everyone knew her as Memaw and many didn’t even know her real name. That was the way she liked it.
Her celebration of life will be held March 18th, 2023 at 2 pm at her happy place, the farm. Her final resting place will be with her horses as per her request.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Tracy Martin and husband Ty Martin; two grandchildren, Courtney Jenkins and husband Drew Jenkins, and Megan Coston; 7 great grandchildren, Logan Wyatt, Zay Jenkins, Addison Jackson, Hunter Jenkins, Kamron Flye, Chase Jenkins, and Korbin Flye; long time friend Judy Thompson; her trusted companion Cooper.
