Albert Edward "Ed" Footitt

Ed was born to the late Walter and Maud Footitt in Galt, Ontario on January 17, 1917. He passed away peacefully on October 20, 2013 at the age of 96.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Bette (2012).

Ed was a resident of Acton for almost 90 years and called "The Crescent" home. He retired from Beardmore's and was very involved in the community including the YMCA, Acton Legion, as well as numerous volunteer organizations.

He spoke fondly of spending his winters in Florida and summers at the cottage in Bracebridge.

He will be dearly missed by his son Ted (Margo), grandchildren Kelly (Brian) and Michael (Cathy) and by his great grandchildren Amy, Owen, Emily, Steven and Dylan whom he was so very proud of.

Ed will be fondly remembered by many friends and family.

The family is thankful to all who cared for him at the Erinview Retirement Home and for the superb attention he received from many doctors, nurses and staff while at Credit Valley Hospital. Heartfelt thanks to Andrea "the little one" for your love and commitment to both Ed and Bette. Also to Joyce for your love, care and prayers during his final days.

Friends will be received at St. Alban-the-Martyr Anglican Church, 19 St. Alban’s Drive, Acton on Wednesday, October 23rd, 2013 from noon until the funeral service which will be conducted by the Rev. Brian Galligan at one o’clock.

Private interment at a later date.
