I will never forget Aunt Catherine. Although I was part of the "out-law" brigade at the family reunions, Aunt Catherine always treated me as family. Please accept my condolences.

Dear Bob & family,  Your mom was a very special lady who was loved by all.  She blessed the lives of many in and out of the family.  Her gentle kind ways were always comforting and welcoming.  Memories of A. Catherine are all good.  She and her generation leave much for the rest of us to live up to.  She was a sweet sweet lady and she will be missed. Comfort, Peace & Love, Dean Wright

To the family of our dear Aunt Catherine:
As the son of another of the "Hotchkiss women", I have a sense of the depth of your grief and would like to offer my condolences . Aunt Kay was a wonderful loving person who opened her heart to me and my family many times as she did to everyone who came into contact with her. We will all miss her. She was certainly one of a kind!
There are so many memories that swirl through my head:
What a great gardener she was; How generous and wise and loving she was with everyone; How she opened her house to me when I showed up in Toronto late at night (in about 1954 or '55) with no place to stay and she and Uncle Bob just took me in, gave me a bed, and sent me on my way with a big breakfast the next day; How generous they were to us when we visited them before we went to Australia and when we came back; When Jerry and I were at their wedding in a fancy church in Toronto in 1942(?) and Jerry announced in a loud voice to the congregation after the ceremony: "Well, we can call him Uncle Bob now".  I think Aunt Kay laughed harder than anyone; How they hosted or ran the program at Hotchkiss Family reunions and kept things going. Aunt Kay's strong hand was evident in all of this; As a further example of Aunt Kay's unflappable nature, I remember being invited to a dinner at their Acton home just before they moved, which Aunt Kay had put together in spite of all of the boxes that had already been packed. It was amazing, no sign of the obvious inconveniences in the impeccable meal. I don't think Aunt Kay found excuses very useful! 
And so many, many more....       

We are sad to hear of your loss of Catherine.  We are thinking of you with sympathy during this difficult time and wishing you peace.  Love,  Tammy, Ian and family

Thinking of you all with sympathy on the loss of your mother and grandmother.  Aunt Catherine was a kind, funny and generous person who always made everyone feel special.  I will miss her.
