October 10, 1938 - February 21, 2022
The family of Helen Cordingley sadly announce her passing at
Georgetown District Hospital on February 21, 2022 aged 83 years.
Helen is survived by her three children Tom, Jane and Jim, and her two grandchildren Abigail and Nicholas whom she loved and adored. She leaves behind her two sisters Shirley and Peggy and was predeceased by her brother Patrick. Helen will be remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Helen was born, raised and lived in Huttonville Ontario most of her life. She moved to Georgetown almost twenty years ago where she lived until her passing.
Mom’s favourite pastime was gardening which she continued to do until she was no longer able. Her gardens and house were beautiful and admired by many. She was also quite a wordsmith - her scrabble scores were off-the-charts. Similarly, Mom was a avid crossword puzzler and would often choose the most difficult ones to solve. In her younger years, she had an Antique business. She would go to auctions and
bring home the antiques and restore them to their former glory then sell them at antique markets in shopping malls around the area and out of her house on Brown’s Lane in Huttonville. Mom was creative and enjoyed making things look beautiful.
She will be missed.
As per Mom’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place, interment at Hillcrest Cemetery at a later date.
