Hughie had sparkling light blue eyes, an impish grin and an odd sense of humour. With his distinctive whistle, his family always knew where to find him. He loved to be outside, whether in his garden or touring Ontario on his Harley. Hugh was always active and over the years he was a fastball catcher, a third baseman in softball, and he played hockey, bowled and curled. Hugh had a passion for golfing and squeezed in one last game before an unexpected illness took him.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 47 years, Cathy (nee Hunter), and his children Lisa, Sheri (Bruno) and Steven (Amy). Beloved Papa Dude to Levi, Amber and Lana. He is also lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law Shirley Hunter, and brothers- and sisters-in-law David Hunter, Cheryl and Steve Savage, and Stacy and Julian Ashworth. He is survived by his siblings, Peter, Ruth, Nancy and David, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, John Thomson Forbes and Dorothy Jean Bulger, father-in-law Brydon Hunter, brother-in-law Russell, sister Heidi and brother Paul. He will be missed by many friends and colleagues.
