John George Hargrave

George passed away peacefully at the Groves Memorial Hospital, Fergus, on Saturday, September 13, 2008, in his 86th year.

He was the beloved husband of Marie L. Crump (1992) and the loving father of David and his late wife Linda, Sandra Gothard and her late husband Brian, Peter and his wife Lise and David Jr.

Cherished grandfather of Allison and Gillian, Tara and Nicole, Ashley, David and Daniel.

George was the dear brother of Lorraine Seager and the late Bernice Crump.

George will be remembered for his numerous volunteer contributions to our community: Sunday School Teacher, Boy Scout Leader, St. John’s Ambulance Volunteer,

as a driver with the Canadian Cancer Society and Meals on Wheels, and as one of the Three Amigos at the Acton Trunk Sale.

The family will receive friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home “Shoemaker Chapel” 55 Mill Street East, Acton, on Tuesday, September 16th from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

A Masonic Service will be held by the Walker-Friendship Lodge on Tuesday evening at 9 p.m. Friends are invited to meet the family at St. Alban-the-Martyr Anglican Church, 19 St. Alban’s Drive, Acton, where the funeral service to celebrate George’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 17th, 2008 at 11:00 o’clock with the Rev. Canon J. Mark Tiller officiating.

Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Acton.
