Margaret May Jane Matheson

Madge (Margaret MJ) Matheson nee Clifford formerly Fraser, age 81 passed away at Wellington Park Long Term Care, Burlington. Survived by her daughter Miraide Fraser; grandchildren Misty Hickey nee Duke, Marina Duke, Melody Duke, David Fraser; great grandchildren Tanner, Hailey, Damian and her sister Theresa Purkis nee Clifford.

Predeceased by her parents the late John Clifford and Maggie (nee Gallagher). Her brother the late Aidan Clifford and her husband the late Murray Matheson.

Madge will be missed by all her family and friends.

Madge was born in Makeny Co.Tyrone N.Ireland in May 1944. She moved to Scotland at the age of 12. There she met her 1st husband George Fraser in 1961; they married in 1963 and welcomed their daughter Miraide in 1964. In 1966 they moved to Ontario, Canada with the help of her uncle the late Jim Clifford and cousins.

Madge worked in Air Canada commissary for 12 years and Tilden Car Rental. Following her divorce from George, she met Murray Matheson and married in 1987.

She returned to school, graduating from Sheridan College at 42, becoming an RNA. Madge worked at Allendale Nursing home, in Milton for 15 years before retiring in 2004.

Cremation has taken place, a memorial will be held at MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, located at 55 Mill St East, Acton Ontario L7J 1H4, on March 23rd from 10 am to 12 pm.

A memorial service will be following at 12 pm with interment of ashes at Fairview Cemetery, Acton.
