Robert John McLaughlin Mills

Robert passed away suddenly yet peacefully at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital on Saturday, November 20th, 2010. He was in his 89th year.

He was the beloved husband of the late Elsie (1977) and the loving father of Samuel, Mary and Steven (Bailey) Robert was always a devoted grandfather to Shelagh, Janisse and Jon (Routledge), Casey and Shannon and will be sadly missed by his great-grandchildren, Cora and Audrey, who loved him as much as he loved them.

Born in Belfast, Robert moved to Canada in 1948 where he married Elsie in 1950. They moved to Acton in 1975. where he was the owner of Lubin Kennels and later on was active with the Acton Soccer Club for many years.

He was “Grandad” to all of his family, as well as a host of friends.

The family will receive friends at the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home, 55 Mill Street East, Acton on Thursday, November 25th from seven o’clock until the funeral service which will be conducted in the “Shoemaker Chapel” at eight o’clock

There will be a private interment at Glendale Memorial Gardens.

Remembrances to The Arthritis Society or the Ontario S.P.C.A. would be appreciated by the family.
