Barbara Ann Scheffer

Barbara brought love and happiness to all who knew her. She devoted her life to family and friends. She was a lifelong member of Summit Christian Church in Akron. She graduated from Akron City School of Nursing and worked the duration of her career at Family Medicine Associates of Medina.

Barbara’s greatest joy was bringing her family together every Sunday night to share their favorite home-cooked meals. A perfect blend of sassy and sweet, she often found herself as the host for every occasion. She was truly the life of every party and was always the last to leave the dance floor with her favorite beverage in hand. She will be remembered as the best wife, mother, and grandmother.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Gus Scheffer. She is survived by her children, Steven (Marilyn) Scheffer, Susan (Steven) Moore, Scott (Rebecca) Scheffer; six grandchildren, Ashley and Michael Scheffer, Molly and Hannah Moore, Samuel and Solomon Scheffer; and four great-grandchildren, Steven and Patrick Scheffer, Reese and Wesley Brittain.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 19, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Rose Hill Funeral Home located at 3653 W. Market St., Akron, OH 44333. There will be an hour for visitation on Wednesday, December 20, at 10:00 AM, with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00 AM at Rose Hill Funeral Home. Internment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park next door.

The family would like to thank the staff of Arden Courts in Montrose for their outstanding care.
