Ernestine Floyd, of Akron, born in Sarasota, FL on August 31, 1930, went home to be with the Lord August 10, 2011. She was a devoted mother and wife, a retired seamstress and taylorist and a proud member of the Arlington Church of God and the Council of Negro Women. She is survived by her husband; Herman Floyd Sr., her children; Herman Jr. (Diane), Michelle, Vernon (Cynthia), and Derrick (Joel) Floyd. She also leaves behind 19 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Family will receive friends Wednesday, August 17, from 10 to 12 noon at the Catavolos Funeral Home 3653 W. Market St. Fairlawn, where funeral services will be held following visitation at Noon. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
