

She was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. Fran graduated from North High School and attended The University of Akron. She graduated from Merrill Lynch Broker Training School in New York City. Upon graduation, she worked for Merrill Lynch and was recognized as the first woman stockbroker to be fully registered in the State of Ohio. She retired after 57 years of service with Merrill Lynch where she earned a Vice President’s title.
Fran was president of the Litchfield Rehabilitation board, as well as a member of the Akron General Medical Center Development board. She was an honorary member of the Zonta Club of ABC, where she served as President and also as secretary to the district V Governor of Zonta. Fran also served as a member of the Akron Symphony Orchestra for many years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Antonio Olivo, mother, Mary Floro Olivo and her beloved husband Samuel Goldman, brothers, Frank Olivo, and Dominic (Carmela) Olivo, and nephew-in-law, Richard Brown.
Fran will be deeply missed by her step-daughter, Jane Goldman, nephews, Dennis (Jodi) Olivo, Anthony (Rayette) Olivo, nieces, Karen Brown, Donna Lynn (Jim) Baker, Debi D’Antionio, sister-in-law, Judy Olivo, and several great nieces and nephews.
She adored her family and enjoyed many good times with them.
Fran lived at the Maplewood at Twinsburg for the past three years. The family would like to thank all of the staff at Maplewood for being her extended family and for taking such good care of her.
Friends and family may come to call on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 3653 Market Street, Akron, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Hilary Catholic Church, 2750 W. Market Street, Fairlawn, Ohio. Burial at Rose Hill Burial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Akron Symphony and Cleveland Clinic Akron General.
